Street Photography in Illinois
Exhibit designed and curated by Holly Peterson and Megan N Pearson
An often-overlooked genre of photography, street photography began in the nineteenth century and has continued on, evolving alongside the technology of the camera. Using daguerreotypes, calotypes, Kodaks, Leicas, and now even cellphone cameras, street photographers have continually aimed to capture spontaneous and uncontrived images of daily life.
