Digitization Services is responsible for reformatting of special collections material at the University of Illinois Library at Urbana-Champaign in support of Library’s mission to provide preservation and access to its digital collections. Many of the materials we’ve photographed are rare, fragile and challenging to digitized. Our staff carefully handles and photographs materials while also capturing the highest quality digital surrogates. We’ve had the privilege of digitizing so many unique items from our library’s collections.
We photograph various types of material to included books, manuscripts, maps, archival papers, negatives, photographs, and some 3-dimensional objects such as the University of Illinois Honors Tablets which recognize those who’ve graduated from our institution with honors.
